Did Y'all Know that Ethan Cutkosky from Shameless Makes Music?!
Also, happy 25th birthday to him! (Bonus content for this week!)
As time has passed and I went through my college career, I didn’t know I missed out on two seasons of Shameless. I must watch the last two seasons at some point this year.
I stumbled upon Ethan Cutkosky’s public Snapchat story randomly one day and I was like wow, he seems to vlog his life in a way that is very interesting! He goes outside a lot and has an eye to detail, and I really like the camera angles. I subscribed and looked him up. One of the common questions was what he does after Shameless. According to a quick Google search, you will see that he continues being a creative. He produces music and sings in his tracks and has a clothing line. Speaking of which, he had a picture that was taken by someone else, and he wore these black pants with zippers on the flare of the pants while in NYC it looked like, reminding me of my own pants with the same style and cut. I was really excited and grateful to have been reminded of these pants I have with stars sewn on and the uniqueness of these pants my mom had bought me many years ago. I recall wearing these to a great friend’s birthday party one year and someone complimented them and asked if I made them. That’s how unique they are.
Flashforward to maybe last month this year, I wore these pants like the next day and put together an outfit!
Moreover, on Cutkosky on his interest in film and pictures, in 2012, he wanted to be more involved on set for a film titled Going Places, a dark-comedy, which is a similar genre to Shameless. He co-produces and acts in this film.
Recently, I tried to look up his music on Spotify and he does indeed have some tracks on there!
Here are a couple of my favorites:
These songs have such great surround sound with a large dynamic feel! The production is amazing, and the lyrics are very personal, which I dig with writing that is straight from the heart. With “Falling Deep,” the trap beats go so well with this track! In “Anyway,” the verses include two types of tones, which really add strong emotion, and it lines up to the beats perfectly with the drums. Lyrically, themes of emotional and mental distress and relationships are at play here, which I’m sure many people can relate to, especially younger generations. Fans of Artemas, Joji, or Yves Tumor might like Ethan Cutkosky’s music.
